Mega-Sena Draw 2814: Opportunity to Win R$ 16 Million on January 11

Sat 11th Jan, 2025

The Caixa Econômica Federal is set to conduct the 2814th draw of the Mega-Sena lottery on Saturday, January 11. Following a lack of winners in the previous draw held on January 9, the prize pool has now reached an impressive R$ 16 million. The draw is scheduled for 8 PM at the Espaço da Sorte, located along Avenida Paulista, and will be broadcast live across the Caixa's social media platforms.

For those wishing to participate, tickets can be purchased until 7 PM on the day of the draw. A standard ticket, which allows players to select six numbers, is priced at R$ 5. However, for online purchases via the Caixa website or app, the minimum betting amount is R$ 30, whether for a single ticket or multiple entries. If players opt to select seven numbers, the cost increases to R$ 31.50. Alternatively, individuals can place seven separate simple bets for a total of R$ 31.50.

A popular method of betting is through a group, known as a 'bolão,' which allows participants to collectively select numbers. When a bolão is registered, each participant receives a receipt for their share, enabling them to claim their portion of any winnings. The minimum contribution for a bolão is R$ 10, with each share costing at least R$ 5. Participants can form groups ranging from two to a maximum of 100 shares. Additionally, players have the option to join bolões organized by lottery retailers, where they can request a specific number of shares and must keep the receipt for verification on draw day. Note that retailers may apply an additional service fee of up to 35% on the share price.

The prize pool is derived from 43.35% of the total lottery revenue. Out of this amount, 35% is allocated to players who correctly pick all six winning numbers (Sena), while 19% is designated for those who correctly select five numbers (Quina), and another 19% for four-number winners (Quadra). Additionally, 22% of the funds are reserved for future draws with results ending in 0 or 5, and 5% is set aside for the highest prize tier in the final draw of the year, known as the Mega da Virada. In cases where there are no winners in any prize category, the funds roll over to the next draw within that specific category.

It is important to note that prizes must be claimed within 90 days of the draw date; any unclaimed prizes after this period are transferred to the National Treasury for allocation to the Fund for Financing Higher Education Students (FIES).
