Russian Forces Conduct Hour-Long Drone Bombing in Kharkiv, Ukraine

Thu 3rd Apr, 2025

Russian military forces executed a drone bombing campaign lasting one hour in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, on the evening of April 2, 2025. This attack resulted in numerous fires, although authorities reported no casualties from this particular incident.

According to regional officials, a total of 17 Iranian-manufactured Shahed drones were deployed during this bombardment. The majority of the assaults targeted the Kiev district, where local fires broke out as a result of the strikes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this wave of attacks.

This incident follows an earlier assault on the same district earlier in the day, which left five individuals injured. Kharkiv has faced relentless attacks since the onset of Russia's large-scale invasion in February 2022, with aerial bombardments becoming a frequent occurrence that often results in significant casualties.

In recent days, Kharkiv has experienced a series of drone strikes, underscoring the ongoing volatility in the region. Additionally, a drone attack in Derhachi, located northwest of Kharkiv, injured one person, while another assault caused a fire in Cherkaska Lozova, a locality outside Kharkiv.

As the conflict continues, the situation in Kharkiv remains precarious, with the local population enduring the brunt of the ongoing military actions.
