Police are continuing their hunt for the murderer of a man who was stabbed to death on Erhardtstraße.  As the victim and his girlfriend were cycling along the Isar path at Isarvorstadt, the assailant (in an unprovoked attack) spat at the female cyclist.  When confronted by her boyfriend Domenico L., the assailant proceeded to draw a knife and inflict a stab wound to his chest. The Italian victim was taken to the Rechts der Isar hospital but his injuries proved fatal.

Police have issued a description of a man they wish to question.  He is aged around 30, of 1.75m height, with dark hair and was wearing dark clothes at the time of the attack.  DNA analysis will be carried out on the saliva of the perpetrator which was found on the victim's girlfriend's clothes.

As a line of investigation, police are now researching records of men in the region with a history of mental illness. Clinics are being contacted and enquiries are continuing with mental healthcare providers with a view to identifying and apprehending the suspect.
