U1/U2 Smoke at Sendlinger Tor

On Wednesday morning, the underground train lines U1 and U2 were forced out of service.

Smoke at Sendlinger Tor caused the fire department to be alerted. The Hauptbanhof U-Bahn platforms and the U-Bahn lines U1 and U2 were evacuated in the middle of the rush hour. "The tunnel was affected between Sendlinger Tor and central station. But we have found no fire" said a fire department spokesman.  The tunnel and affected stations were reopened at 9.33.
